Mealy Blue Sage

Salvia farinacea
Mealy Blue Sage

Mealy blue sage carries spikes of true blue — an honest color, not the bruised purple most plants try to pass off — spring to frost, on a Texas native tougher than every pampered nursery cultivar bred from it. The bees and butterflies swarm it; the cultivars get the marketing budget. Plant it in a drift. 💙

Spikes of true blue most of the year — this is the native salvia the popular cultivars were bred from, and like a lot of originals, it's tougher than any of its famous children.
