West, toward the Hill Country edge, the ground thins to limestone that sheds a storm like a roof. The same property can carry both.

Most of the landscaping failures we get called to fix around Round Rock come from ignoring the ground. Sod laid over unbroken clay that drowns its own roots. A French drain dropped on limestone with nowhere to daylight. A bed graded toward the foundation. Runoff dumped straight downhill toward a creek that floods.
The fixes aren't exotic — they're just specific. Break and amend the clay so it drains. Fracture the thin limestone soil so roots and water can get through it. Send the storm to a planted swale that slows and filters it instead of the slab. Choose the palette that already knows this heat. Done right, a Round Rock landscape needs less water, less rescue, and less of you every year — and sends cleaner water to the creek.

Round Rock runs drought watering restrictions, and the City's water-conservation program is one of the better ones in the corridor: a rainwater-harvesting rebate (about $0.50 per gallon of storage, up to $600), a Smart Irrigation rebate for WaterSense controllers, sensors, and drip conversions (up to $500 a year for homes), a Healthy Lawn rebate (about $150 for aeration or compost), and a soil-testing rebate (half the cost, up to $150). Where a project can qualify, we design it to — and we'll point you to the programs that are live at roundrocktexas.gov. We never quote a rebate number we can't source.
Do you fix yard flooding and drainage in Round Rock?
Yes — it's one of the most common calls we get along the I-35 corridor.
